Participant Disclaimer and Data Protection Notice

By registering for and participating in the 2025 Inaugural Summit of the Forwarding and Clearing Industry (hereafter "the Summit"), whether physically or virtually, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
 

1. Personal Information and Data Protection
 

In accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), Act No. 4 of 2013 of South Africa, and aligned with relevant international data protection laws, including but not limited to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of the European Union, participants are hereby informed and acknowledge that:

a. Your personal information, including but not limited to your name, contact details, company affiliation, and media (photos, video, audio recordings) may be collected, stored, processed, and used for the purpose of event administration, communication, reporting, marketing, and archiving.

 

b. The event organisers, namely the Transport Education and Training Authority (TETA) and Africa Global Connect Consultancy (AGCC), undertake to process personal data lawfully, fairly, and transparently, and shall implement appropriate technical and organisational security measures to safeguard such data.

 

c. By registering, you consent to the above collection and use of your data for the stated purposes. You may withdraw consent or request data correction/deletion at any time by contacting the organisers directly.

 

d. The event may be recorded and broadcast. Your participation, including any contributions in discussions or Question and Answer, may be captured and used for future training, promotional, or reporting purposes.

 

2. Disclaimer of Liability

​

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, TETA, AGCC, and any of their partners, affiliates, officers, employees, agents, or contractors shall not be held liable for:

​

a. Personal injury, loss, or damage to property incurred during participation in the Summit, whether virtual or physical, arising from negligence, accidents, interruptions, or unforeseen events.

 

b. Any technical issues, such as loss of connectivity, data loss, software or platform malfunctions, during virtual or physical participation.

 

c. Any decisions, actions, or outcomes based on information, opinions, or advice presented during the Summit by speakers or any other participants.

 

d. Third-party content or external links that may be shared or accessed during the event.

 

e. All participants are advised to take necessary precautions when traveling or connecting online, and to safeguard personal devices and data.

 

 

3. Intellectual Property and Use of Materials

 

All materials shared during the Summit, including presentations, videos, and documents, remain the intellectual property of their respective authors or organisers. Participants may not reproduce, distribute, or publish such content without explicit written permission.

 

4. Consent to Communication

​

By registering, participants agree to receive event-related communications from TETA, AGCC, and their authorised partners. You may opt out of future communications by using the unsubscribe option provided in official correspondence.

 

Acceptance

​

Completion of the registration process signifies that you have read, understood, and accepted the above disclaimer and data protection provisions.
